Do you clean carpet and upholstery on the same visit?
Yes. Carpet and upholstery are both part of what we do, and most homes book them together so the whole room is finished in one appointment. Tell us what is in the room when you call, the sofa, the dining chairs, an area rug, the stairs, and we bring the tools for all of it rather than coming back a second time.
What is the difference between steam cleaning and shampooing a carpet?
Shampooing works detergent down into the pile and then relies on vacuuming to pull it back out again, so some of it stays behind and starts attracting soil. Steam cleaning, properly called hot water extraction, injects hot solution into the carpet and draws it straight back out under suction, taking the loosened soil with it. That is the method we use.
Will my carpet be soaking wet after you leave?
No. Hot water extraction puts solution in and pulls most of it straight back out, so the carpet is left damp rather than wet. We make a slow final pass over the traffic lanes to lift as much moisture as the machine will take. Opening a window or leaving the air conditioning running helps it finish off.
Are the products you use safe around babies and pets?
We clean with non toxic products, which matters in a house with a crawling baby, a dog that sleeps on the rug or a cat that grooms itself afterwards. If anybody in the home has an allergy or a sensitivity to scent, say so when you book and we will keep it in mind for that room.

Can you take a stain out that somebody has already tried to scrub?
Often yes, although a scrubbed stain is harder work than a fresh one. Rubbing pushes the spill deeper into the pile and can distort the fibers, and a store bought spotter can leave a sticky residue that keeps pulling soil back to the same patch. Tell us what was used on it. We flush the residue out first, then treat whatever is actually left.
